The players of Manchester United must foster a culture of consistency among the Premier League club, according to manager Erik ten Hag on Friday. After a 1-0 win against Brentford in their most recent league game, United improved from a discouraging 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United and moved three points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth position with 53 points. Yet when asked about the passion his squad showed against Brentford, Ten Hag highlighted that the team needed to offer all throughout every game, not only after losses. That has to be the standard, you have to do it, and that's the duty you have to uphold while playing for Manchester United, the Dutchman added before Saturday's home game against Everton. "You need to be accountable. Demands are at issue. We must create guidelines. Cultural conventions must always be followed. "If you want to be a player at the top, fighting for awards, you must practice it often and regularly. It is our duty to convey such attitude. On Saturday, United will face an Everton team that is on the rise. Everton has gone four league games without a loss, including draws against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. The Merseyside team in 16th position has substantially improved under Sean Dyche's guidance, and thanks to their current run of success, they have been able to escape the relegation zone. Ten Hag praised Dyche for what he has done with the group. He said, "He is undoubtedly an excellent manager. Since they are highly physically fit, we must match his team's physical effort. Christian Eriksen, a Danish midfielder, will be back in the starting lineup on Saturday instead of United's Luke Shaw, a defender. Eriksen received a three-month ban because Andy Carroll's tackle caused him to injure his ankle in late January during United's 3-1 FA Cup fourth-round win against Reading. Ten Hag stated: "For the next week, we must assess Shaw's performance. It's fantastic to hear that Eriksen is back in the gym and joining the team. When he was away, we first believed we would be without him the whole season, but he worked really well. The medical section did well. He's now available for the balance of the season. He is ahead of schedule, which is good news for us.
